Dr. Daniel Aldrich is Dean’s Professor of Resilience, Director of the Security and Resilience Studies Program, and Co-Director of the Global Resilience Institute at Northeastern University, USA. He studies how communities recover from disasters and writes about resilience, social response, and disaster policy.

Dr. Denise D P Thompson is the Director of the MPA in Inspection and Oversight and is an associate professor in the Department of Public Management, John Jay College, City University of New York. She is a development studies scholar who has a Ph.D. in Public Administration. She has researched and published on disaster risk management, governance, and public policy issues related to disaster risk reduction issues affecting small island developing states (SIDS).

Dr. Azam Khan is Professor in the Structural Engineering department at the NUST Institute of Civil Engineering (NICE), National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. He works on steel and offshore structures, computational structural analysis, resilient infrastructure, and seismic performance of structures. He is active in research on structural behaviour under dynamic and seismic loads.

Umar Ahmad Noor is a graduate student member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) and a Research Associate at the Earthquake Engineering Center, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar, Pakistan. He is a graduate student in Structural Engineering at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, and has earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from COMSATS University Islamabad, where he was awarded a Gold Medal. His research focuses on structural and earthquake engineering, computational structural mechanics, seismic performance, and the use of physics-informed deep learning, computer vision, and other advanced computational tools to enhance structural resilience.
